Privacy policy

Plain-language version: we collect what a bartering network needs to work, we never sell it, and you can change or remove it yourself.

Who we are

Vanguard Network is a community bartering platform connecting project creators, makers and growers. This policy explains what information the app collects, why it is collected, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Account details: your email address and password (held by our authentication provider; we never see your password).

Profile details you choose to share: display name, neighbourhood, photo, bio, skills you offer, things you need, and your barter item list.

Availability: the days you are usually free, hours per week, travel radius, and any saved schedule windows.

Swap activity: barter requests you send or receive, their status and dates, booked calendar slots, and messages you send inside a swap chat.

Payment status: whether your membership is active, your plan, and renewal dates. Card numbers are handled entirely by our payment provider (Stripe); we never see or store your full card details.

Why we collect it

To run the directory: other members need to see your name, photo, skills and availability to propose a fair swap.

To coordinate swaps: requests, calendar bookings and chat only work if the two members involved can see them.

To manage membership: payment status decides which features are unlocked, and lets us remind you before renewal.

We do not sell your information, run advertising, or share your details with anyone outside the network except the providers below.

Who can see your information

Signed-in members can see directory profiles: name, photo, neighbourhood, offers, needs, barter items and availability.

Only the two members in a swap can see that swap's requests, bookings, details and chat messages.

The site administrator can see membership and payment status and swap summaries in order to run the network.

Service providers

Hosting and database: Lovable Cloud stores accounts, profiles, swaps and messages on secure servers.

Payments: Stripe processes subscriptions. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the card details you give at checkout.

Your choices

Edit or remove your profile details at any time from the Profile page.

Remove barter items from your list whenever you like.

Cancel your membership from the Manage billing page; your access continues until the end of the paid period.

To delete your account and all associated data, contact the network administrator. Deleting your account removes your profile, photo, items, swaps and messages.

Data retention

We keep your information while your account is active. Completed swaps stay visible to the two members involved as a shared record. When an account is deleted, its profile, items, swaps and messages are removed.

Children

Vanguard Network is for adults arranging real-world work. You must be 18 or older to join.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the updated version is posted on this page with a new date. Questions about your data can be sent to the network administrator through the app.
